The International Society for the Advancement of Writing Research (ISAWR) grew out of the great success of the two previous Writing Research Across Borders (WRAB) conferences (in 2008 and 2011), which indicated a strong desire for writing researchers from all regions of the world interested in all aspects of writing at all ages of development to communicate with each other. At the 2011 conference, the WRAB Scientific Committee voted to form ISAWR and established procedures to elect an Interim Steering Committee.
The elected committee has created a Mission Statement for the Organization and has issued a call for site bids for the 2014 conference. We invite proposals for hosting the 2014 conferences, to be submitted by January 31, 2012.
The Interim Steering Committee is now considering activities for the organization beyond the conference and is creating a constitution for the organization, to be approved by the WRAB Scientific Committee.
