Writing Research Across Borders 2021 (WRAB 2021) Conference

A virtual conference taking place on March 5th and 6th, 2021.

The International Society for the Advancement of Writing Research (ISAWR) had planned WRAB V to take place in Xi’an, China in March of 2020. While this event had to be cancelled because of the global pandemic, we are pleased to announce that we have reshaped the conference to take place in a digital/virtual format on March 5th and 6th, 2021. This conference will continue the successful work of the previous four WRAB conferences in Santa Barbara, Washington D.C., Paris, and Bogota in 2008, 2011, 2014, and 2017 and will anticipate WRAB VI in Trondheim, Norway 2023! (https://www.ntnu.edu/wrab23).

Calibrated to cover time zones the world over, WRAB 2021 seeks to broker a space for international scholarly discussion on writing research for presenters and participants. With over one-hundred confirmed presenters from more than thirty countries, WRAB 2021 is uniquely positioned to continue the conversations about writing research from previous WRAB conferences, but in a new, digital format. Plenary speakers Chuck Bazerman, Qilong Wang, Montserrat Castello, and Yrjö Engeström have also confirmed their participation. Two days of programming have been planned – including individual presentations, panels, and symposia, as well as social hours and a special “Works in Progress” session.
